Sixty-one schools were closed in Narathiwat province after two teachers were shot by Muslim insurgents. Twenty-eight civilians were wounded in a bombing in a market in Narathiwat. Three soldiers were killed and one wounded as they attempted to defuse a bomb in Pattani province. An IED attack killed one soldier and wound two soldiers and three civilian in Yala province.
