Sixteen Taliban, 15 soldiers, and nine civilians were reported killed during fighting in Swat and Shangla. A soldier and five civilians were killed in sectarian clashes in Kurram. A policeman was killed in a bomb blast near Mardan. Schoolgirls in Manshera are wearing burkas after Taliban threats.
