Iraqi soldiers killed one insurgent and captured 47 in operations throughout Iraq. Coalition forces captured 12 al Qaeda operatives during raids. Coalition forces also killed two members of the Special Groups and captured five in the Khan Bani Said region north of Baghdad. Insurgents killed the mayor of a district in Kirkuk.
