Iraqi Security Forces captured 39 suspected insurgents along the foothills of the Hamrin Mountains of Tikrit, including a senior member of the Islamic State of Iraq, 20 insurgents in Baghdad, and 23 insurgents in Baqubah. Coalition forces killed eight al Qaeda operatives and captured 10 during raids throughout Iraq. Five US soldiers were killed in attacks throughout Iraq.
