At least six were killed and 150 wounded after Hamas fired on a Fatah gathering celebrating the third anniversary of the death of Arafat. The chief negotiator for the Palestine Liberation Organization, rejected Israel’s demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Israel will release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners prior to negotiations.
