Benazir Bhutto’s convoy was hit with a sophisticated, multipronged attack that resulted in 132 killed and 500 wounded. The Lal Masjid spokesman said the mosque movement would “gain nothing from attacking Benazir.” The military moved 15,000 additional troops to Swat, sources said.
