The Taliban attacked a US forward operating base in Nuristan province while dressed as Afghan soldiers. Two Afghan soldiers were killed and 11 US soldiers were wounded. The governor of Khost province survived an assassination attempt. The Czechs plan to send a 200-strong provincial reconstruction team to Logar province.
