The military is deploying an additional 1,000 troops to Sulu to battle the MNLF and Abu Sayyaf as the death toll from this week’s fighting reached 57. MNLF threatened to retaliate if the military does not withdraw its troops from Sulu. MILF denied aiding Abu Sayyaf in Basilan.
