The Foreign Office dismissed concerns about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. The Taliban in South Waziristan demanded 10 of their operatives be freed in exchange for 15 kidnapped soldiers. The military killed three civilians after a convoy struck an IED in North Waziristan, while the ISPR claimed these were actually al Qaeda operatives killed during strikes on bases.
