ISAF forces killed four Taliban and wounded two in a clash in the Sangin district of Helmand province. A suicide bomber killed the chief of Zari district in Kandahar province along with two of his children; three of his children were wounded. ISAF forces killed five civilians and wounded three during a clash with the Taliban in eastern Afghanistan. ISAF created Regional Battle Group South, which “can be deployed to support operations in Kandahar, Zabol, Oruzgan or Helmand.” Britain plans to increase troops and aid to Afghanistan.
