The Taliban claimed it killed the two German hostages, but the German government said this has not been confirmed. South Korea said it will withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of the year just days after 18 citizens were captured. Twenty-five Taliban were killed in Farah province, while 15 Taliban were killed in clashes with police in Maidan Wardak and Zabul provinces.
