[UPDATE2] The military said it killed 35 “militants” during clashes near Mirali in North Waziristan after the Taliban fired rockets at a military checkpoint. Up to 54 Taliban are said to have been killed in North Waziristan since Saturday. NWFP Governor Aurakzai rejected the Taliban demand to dismantle checkpoints prior to continuing negotiations.
