Abu Dujana, the captured military commander of Jemaah Islamiyah, admitted he is a close associate of Osama bin Laden and Dujana’s terror group shares the same philosophy and tactics as al Qaeda. He stated all Westerners are legitimate targets and attacks will continue.


Pakistan

North Waziristan’s political agent warned a tribe to expel “foreigners” form North Waziristan. Five Tajik “Islamists” were captured crossing the border from Iran into Balochistan. The All Pakistan Minorities Alliance demanded the government ban Jamia Hasfa as it promotes extremism and Talibanisation.


Al Qaeda

Ayman al-Zawahri released an audio message on the Internet. “Al-Qaida’s deputy leader called on Muslims worldwide to back Hamas with weapons, money and attacks on U.S. and Israeli interests on Monday, even as it urged the Palestinian group to unite with al-Qaida after its takeover of Gaza.” Hamas stated its agenda is not al Qaeda’s.

Pakistan

Upwards of 20 Taliban were killed in a rocket attack from Afghanistan into Mangroti village in North Waziristan. Four paramilitary soldiers were killed in an IED attack in North Waziristan. Bombs were found in oil tankers destined for Afghanistan.


Palestinian Territories

Hamas will hunt “Israeli spies” in Gaza and conduct a bombing campaign in the West Bank, a senior leader said. Hamas said it wants to share power with Fatah. The IDF arrested the founder of Hamas’ Qassam rocket brigade in the West Bank.


Afghanistan

Over 80 Talliban were killed and another 20 captured by NATO and Afghan forces operating in Ghazni, Helmand, and Paktika provinces. Eighteen deminers are reported to have been kidnapped in Ghazni.




Pakistan

The National Security Council urged Musharraf to take action to stop the spread of the “Talibanization” of northwestern Pakistan. A Taliban commander in North Waziristan threatened the US and Pakistan. A “US Spy” was beheaded in Bajaur. Three Germans were arrested for “Islamist links.”
