The Religious Affairs Minister admitted to letting Ghazi off on terrorism charges. The “Wana region is now virtually free of Uzbeks,” according to a agency administrator.

Muslim insurgents shot then burned the body of a Buddhist woman in Yala. Muslim insurgent detonated a bomb in a Yala market, wounding seven.


Somalia

The Hawiye clan, which supports the Islamic Courts, claimed 1,086 people have been killed and 4,334 wounded since the fighting began in Mogadishu. Four more were killed as fighting resumed in the capital. Ethiopia is holding 41 terror suspects from 17 countries. Eritrea denied U.S. claims it is supporting the insurgency.
