The Taliban have captured the remote district of Bakwa in the western province of Farah. Over 300 Taliban are said to have stormed the town. The Taliban attacked a NATO convoy in Kandahar City, and five civilians were wounded in the ensuing gunfight. Three police were killed and three wounded during poppy eradication operations in Farah. The Taliban claimed it shot down the CH-47 with a ‘SAM-7’ [likely the Sa-7 Strela].
