Twenty-six have been killed and 300 wounded in 3 days of fighting between Hama and Fatah. Fatah leader Muhammad Dahlan’s nephew was kidnapped by Hamas. Hamas burned, leveled and looted Fatah security forces buildings. The fighting may spread to the West Bank as kidnappings and intimidation is on the rise.


Pakistan

Two Pakistani soldiers were killed and seven wounded after a suicide bomber rammed his car into a convoy traveling from Dera Ishmail Khan to Tank in the the NWFP. A Taliban bomber blew himself up while planting a bomb outside a music store in Bannu in the NWFP. He appears to be an Uzbek.


United Kingdom

The UK prepares for the worst. MI5 and police conducted exercises to deal with a “Beslan-like siege.” al Qaeda has ordered cells to conduct a wave of beheadings in the country, which has prompted the deployment of an SAS battalion to London. The Joint Support Group is working to break terror cells in Iraq.


Afghanistan

NATO killed Mullah Abdul Ghafour, a senior Taliban leader, during an airstrike outside of Musa Qala, a Taliban stronghold in Afghanistan. Ghafour was a corps commander in western Afghanistan during the Taliban regime. U.S. Army General Dan McNeill has assumed command of NATO’s ISAF mission.


Hezbollah

Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah admitted Syria and Iran provide for the terror group’s funding and support. “Iran assists the organization with money, weapons, and training, motivated by a religious fraternity and ethnic solidarity,” Nasrallah said. “And the help is funneled through Syria, and everybody knows it.”
