Taliban display beheaded bodies of tribal leaders
Swat tribal leader Pir Samiullah was killed by the Taliban in December 2008. The Taliban returned to his village, dug up his body, beheaded the corpse, hung it from a pole, and threatened villagers if they attempted to bury him. The barbaric act crushed the tribal resistance in Swat. This video shows Samiullah just after he was killed; his two senior lieutenants were beheaded and their bodies were hanged upside down. Samiullah is pictured with the green headband. For more information, see LWJ report, Taliban execute Swat tribal leader.
