I have been hearing rumors that Qari Hussain Mehsud, the deputy to Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan’s emir, Hakeemullah Mehsud, was either wounded or killed in a recent Predator strike in Pakistan, but haven’t gotten anything near confirmation. NDTV is claiming he was killed:
In a major setback to Taliban, missiles fired from US drones have killed its top commander and group’s deputy chief Qari Hussain Mehsud, mastermind of many suicide attacks across Pakistan, sources claimed on Friday.
The drones hit a militant compound in Jungle Khel area near Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan Agency, killing four militants including Qari Hussain on October 7.
There was no word from the Taliban on whether the dreaded commander, best known as a trainer of suicide bombers, had died in the attack.

Qari Hussain is a media-savvy Taliban leader. If he’s alive, he’ll more likely than not tell us, and soon. He’s gone out of his way to dispel rumors of his death in the past, and to mock those who’ve made the claim in the process.

Geo TV’s now pushing it as their front page story. Interesting coming on the heels of the latest US concerns on the TTP (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/10/14/exclusive-pakistani-taliban-new-operative-inside-times-square-failure-sources/?test=latestnews).

I appreciate that insight Bill. It will interesting to see if he pops up.
Good. Less weight on the earth. That was all he was.
I certainly hope we got him, one less pschyopath running around. However, I’m not going to hold my breath. The Pakistanis are notoriously bad at these reports and have brought his name up before. This is guy is definately hard to kill, so I will welcome the opputunity to cross him off the list.
If true I will definitely uncap an ice cold Lone Star beer in celebration. My heart soars like an eagle when I read such news. Let’s hope it is one more in a long line of future bulls eyes.

I believe this is the trainer of child suicide bombers. True scum to manipulate the minds of children for his evil purposes. A special hot place in hades will be waiting for this low life.
Also, since he claims some responsibility for the Times Square bomber and recent drone strikes have been obstensibly to stop a Mumbai style attack in Europe, and a warning has gone out that another bomber may be in the US, this strike may have been to disrupt a US plot. If so , looks like we were spot on.
